Rotary Club of Bagatelle

Our History

The Rotary Club of Bagatelle (RCB) was chartered on 23rd June 2022. It aims to be a young and professional club that seeks to work with a new corporate mindset. The RCB is founded on the philosophy that Rotarians do exceptional work and that strives to promote engagement in social and community service—while not neglecting the aspect of networking, promoting professional and business relationships while respecting good governance.

The Board of Directors of Rotary International has set a goal of having 30 percent women by 2023 and also advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Since it’s inception, the RCB has aimed to be a model in terms of diversity, equity, and inclusion – with a near parity of 50% men and 50% women.

We take pride in our name – Bagatelle – a place which, in Mauritian jargon, is synonymous to innovation and modernity. We symbolically held our Charter Ceremony at Voila Hotel, Bagatelle and proudly host our weekly meetings and most important events there only.

The founder members of the RCB are Amaresh Ramlugan, Harsha Pathak and Kishore Seegobin.  The Charter President is Amaresh Ramlugan and his key message at the Charter Ceremony was: “As Charter President, I am committed to nurture the passion of the members of the Rotary Club of Bagatelle by  ensuring that my members get involved in our initiatives ..”
